This is my storyfor tasks! 20/6/2012

I lay in bed. My mind running over the possibilities. What was it, behind it, the little door down the stairs. The temptation eating away at me with each growing second. My dad said never to go down, to open the door. Spiders? Mice? Aliens? So many questions, one answer. I have to know, but dad would never forgive me. Just one look couldn’t hurt. No one needed to know. I mustn't, something horrible could be lurking just behind that small door. Dad had always said that things are lost in there. Maybe he would want them back, but he spat the words out like he was overcome with rage. Maybe he was just lying. But dad never lies. He’s never really been mean, only when I ask about the door does something flare inside him and in one second he’s tickling you, then the next he’s looking you right in the eye. No, go to sleep, I tell myself. The more you think about it, the more curious you become. The instant I close my eyes my legs betray me and I’m up walking towards the door. I command my legs to stop but still they move closer like they’re not attached to my body. I sort of waddle down the stairs. Only one glare at the door took me flying back into my room. I slam the door shut, but not so loud that it would wake up the whole house, but enough to make me jump. My heart is pounding. I was sure i had seen the doorknob turn.

That’s impossible. You just need some sleep. But it looked so real. I pinch myself, hard. It hurt. I put my ear to the door. Soon after I wish I hadn’t, but still I couldn’t take my ear off the door, same as not being able to control my legs. I could just make out whispers rebounding through the walls. ‘Thomas, Thomas you must help us! Thomas, go through the door, come to our world! Help us Thomas, Thomas we need you!’ The supernatural force was gone and I ripped my ear off the door. I opened my mouth the scream, but nothing came out other than a small screeching sound no louder than a mouse. I climb into bed and the last thing I hear is the creaking of a door opening.

I wake up to find my wrists and legs loosely bound. I sit up and in the dark room all i can just make out two chairs i over to my right. I hear rustling and i shoot back down. People are talking but I need to strain my ears to hear what they are saying,
‘Don’t hurt the boy, we need him if we are too compete what the master has told us,’ the voice was calm and slightly higher than I would have first thought for something that could have tied me up,
‘How do we know we can trust him, I mean he is human, those lying little rats.’ Now that sounded like something who would do this. The voice was dark and cold and even without looking at it, I could tell that this was one to keep away from. The door opened to the room I was in and a strange green light filled the room. I could feel the creatures coming closer and then them leaning over me; I open my eyes fast and see these almost human things staring down at me. I scream long and hard, which obviously scared them because they also scream an inhuman screech. When I stop, my lungs and throat throb with the force and i keep the temptation to talk and wait for faint to take its toll.
‘You’re awake,’ the scary one said,
‘I’m Club and that’s Shank,’ the higher voiced one said, ‘Sorry about the approach, Shank here,’ Club pointed to Shank, ‘he wanted to make it scary but I thought what’s the point?’ Club had a way to make his voice sound so soothing and calmed me right down.
‘Sneaking around is way more fun,’ Shank said with an evil smile ‘But she doesn’t know how to have fun you see, always following the rules’. The confusion in my head finally stopped and I could take in what they looked like. Club was tall and she had skin a shade of blue, not the bright blue like they had in avatar, a movie I watched a week ago, but more of a green kind of blue. Club had a small noise and they clearly relied on sight not smell, she had long hair down to her thigh and grey sparkling eyes. Shank, on the other hand, was short, had a longer nose, that was sort of crooked like is been broken and a buzz cut with scars that covered all over his body. His eyes look much the same as Club’s but they look deeper and scary. They both wore this brown cloth that looked like it was supposed to be a jumpsuit.
‘Right,’ Shank said which snapped me out of my line of thought, ‘Let’s take you to the master.’
*
‘Where am I? Who’s the Master? What are you? What do you want with me?’ I ask almost shouting, tired of not receiving the answers I so desperately long for.
‘Stupid human, why do you ask so many annoying questions?’Shank spits at me, literally, I wish I could burn my face but that would kill me.
‘Mock me now, but soon I will run out of here so fast when I get the chance, that all you will see is a puff of smoke,’ I shout back in reply,
‘How did you know our weakness was smoke?’ Shank said with an alarmed look in his eyes,
‘Wait, your weakness is smoke?’ I ask hoping that this could be my ticket out of here,
‘Yes and the master keeps a bottle of it right beside him to kill any sentenced to death.’ Club explained, ‘and were going to him right now.’
‘So what is he going to do with me?’ I ask, finally getting some answers,
‘Ever heard of magic?’ Club asks,
‘Yes but it’s not true,’
‘What would you do I told you that there is such thing as magic?’ Club asks. She stops so suddenly that I almost trip up. What I regain balance I reply,
‘Laugh in your face, call you a liar, and tell you that you should go to a mental hospital.’
‘Well, maybe it doesn’t in your world but it does in our world and where you come from the thing is everyone wants a magical solution to their problems but they refuse to believe in magic # and that’s just sad.’ And with that Club walks off without saying another word. I stand there for a moment before Shank pushes me in the back, which made me jump slightly because I forgot he was ever there.
‘Get moving, you lazy human’ Shank said sharply, not wanting to get hurt I move forward.

The room where the master sits is a room much like where a king would sit only its outside and the walls are stone blocks. Everywhere I look is stone, even the building which I just walked out of. We were just along a stone path to get to the chair put out for me to sit on when something catches my eye, the only kind of colour in the grey stone. The tiny wooden door from down the stairs. A plan slowly forms in my head my I make an effort to hide it. Club guides me like I'm blind to the seats and I sit down. Shank and Club move away and go through another door off the right leaving me alone with The Master, as they call him A few feet away I can see a large jar of dark grey smoke. I look down and realise that I'm still wearing my slippers and dressing gown, the only familiar thing that’s happened in the passed, what was it, an hour two at the most or... a movement in front of me stops me from finishing my thought. The master comes to join us. He’s fat with no hair, skin a sick green colour, and red eyes the size of soccer balls.
‘I need you to help me get into your world.’ He said with a booming voice,
‘And why should I do that? I didn’t exactly get an invitation to come here instead when I fall asleep, or what ever, you kidnap me and take me here. If you wanted something from me you could at least show me some respect. And another thing, why would I help you come into my word, all you would do is just take over it and use us as slaves and why would I do that?’ I shout at him, glade I can release some anger out of me, ‘I’m only 13 what use am I to you, the only way out is through that tiny door which I have no idea where that is and the only way I could think of getting someone of your size through is cutting you up and putting you in a dryer to shrink which would take a long time based on size.’ I take a deep breath; I didn’t know I was that angry. I try to read his mind on how this would take effect on him.
‘You must think of another way to get me there,’ he pauses not knowing what words to use next, ‘Thomas, you’re a smart kid, I know that.’ I think that now is as good a time as ever. I stand up quickly and kick my slipper at the jar. It misses but just as all my hopes where fading the slipper sinks into the master’s stomach and bounces back smashing the jar of the smoke. The smoke really is their weakness and I can see why, the master has started to liquefy and sink like goo. Just as I turn to run to the door, I hear a metal sound and turn around. A key has dropped and my guess is that the door is locket and that’s the key that I need. I charge forward and pick up the key almost gagging as his body parts start to dissolve. I notice that any thing that he touched also starts disappearing because my slipper is a liquid now and the chair is a pool of stone, and then I realise that the key would be next so I turn and sprint my heart out towards the little door ten meters away. Just as I put the key in the hole I can feel it running down my sleeve. Click, the doors open and I look back one final time, because I know I will never come back here at all if I get a say in it, and see Shank running at me. Just as I get my head through the door I can hear him screaming,
‘We’ll find you Thomas and when we do,’ close the door shutting off his last words.

I’m Home I think and race up stairs and into my bedroom. Just as I left it, perfect. The time said it was 7:30, mum and dad would still b in bed. I run to their room and open the door. Like any other Saturday dad was reading his book and mum was reading her magazine.
‘Dad I’m so sorry but I went to look at the door and they got me, I only just got back,’
By the look on his face I can kiss pocket money good-bye.
